The View Rhossili – what’s in a name?
The View at Rhossili is an aptly named café, bar and kitchen enjoying what must surely be one of the most iconic locations in the Gower peninsula if not the whole of the UK. This standout destination is situated at the top of the cliffs at Rhossili offering breath-taking views across the 3-mile sandy sweep of Atlantic coastline from the tidal island of Worm’s Head to Burry Holms in the distance, and on a clear day, to Pembrokeshire in the far distance.
But that’s not all it offers! This wonderfully relaxed eatery has a diverse menu: from salads, signature burgers, ploughman’s lunches, children’s options, to Middle Eastern and Asian delights, the food is fresh and served with pride and with a smile by the lovely friendly staff.
And it’s no wonder the staff is proud and smiling as The View has just been recognised as THE top-rated Café and Bistro of the Year in the annual Food Awards Wales. On 9th September, The View was announced the winner not only for the south-west region of Wales, but as overall winner for Wales!
What’s great is that The View values customers both local and visiting and its doors are open all-year round for their fabulous breakfasts, main menus and small menus (including a huge variety of Vegan options.) Of course, with such a fantastic location, The View is set up to have indoor dining, and tables on the terrace when weather permits.
It’s wonderful that we can signpost guests to our luxury rental accommodation at Bayview Oxwich with utmost confidence to this award-winning Gower business. And it’s only a 10-minute drive away! It’s a great pit-stop if you’re walking the Gower Coast Path, or watching the surf or the wild Gower ponies, or just fancy great coffee with views to die for. There’s also easy parking in the National Trust car park just steps away.
