At Bayview Oxwich we’re delighted to share the news that this year’s Swansea and Gower’s Ironman 70.3 will take place on Sunday, 13th July 2025. Although it might seem like a fair way off, athletes are already registering and training hard for the swim, bike, run event that has become the highlight of the running calendar here in Swansea and Gower for competitors and spectators alike.
National Trust – out and about in Gower this spring
At Bayview Oxwich we were delighted to see the Gower peninsula feature, not once, but twice, in their Spring 2025 magazine. The two articles illustrated the huge diversity packed into our compact peninsula. Visitors who stay with us at our luxury holiday rental properties can see so many different physical and cultural landscapes all within a 20-minute drive from Bayview Oxwich.
Gower Peninsula Mighty Hike
When it comes to spectacular bays and dramatic limestone cliffs, Gower’s scenery is certainly unbeatable. But Marie Curie, the wonderful UK Charity helping people get the best care possible right to the end, has an unmissable event coming up called Beat The Gower Coast inviting walkers to be part of its UK-wide Beat The Trails Campaign to raise money and awareness of Marie Curie.

Drumroll for the Dolphin Inn
We’re absolutely delighted here at Bayview Oxwich that one of our favourite Gower pubs has opened its doors again. The Dolphin Inn in Llanrhidian had been in the same family for decades and sadly had to close its doors, but since May 2024 it’s been under new management and we couldn’t be more pleased!
Dazzling Natural Beauty in Gower
The Gower peninsula has long been acknowledged for its natural beauty, awarded the status of being the UK’s first-ever designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty back in 1956. Its unspoiled beaches, dramatic cliffs and wild open spaces were recognised as very special landscapes and have since been a magnet for visitors to share this unique place that we at Bayview Oxwich are proud to call home.
Take a Walk on the Wild Side – Rhossili to Paviland Cave, Gower
The television programme, Countryfile, broadcast on the BBC every Sunday evening, is a national treasure. For years, millions have tuned into watch and learn about the UK’s diverse landscape, and its environmental and farming issues. At Bayview, Oxwich, we’re avid viewers. We also enjoy its hugely interesting online presence.
The View Rhossili – what’s in a name?
The View at Rhossili is an aptly named café, bar and kitchen enjoying what must surely be one of the most iconic locations in the Gower peninsula if not the whole of the UK. This standout destination is situated at the top of the cliffs at Rhossili offering breath-taking views across the 3-mile sandy sweep of Atlantic coastline from the tidal island of Worm’s Head to Burry Holms in the distance, and on a clear day, to Pembrokeshire in the far distance.
