Gower Walking Festival

Saturday 30th May – Sunday 7th June

At Bayview, Oxwich we’re proud that Wales is unique in the world in having an 870 mile continuous walking path that hugs its spectacular coastline in its entirety. We’re fortunate too that on our doorstep, Gower boasts a 50-mile stretch of this path, skirting unspoiled coastline, sandy beaches, dramatic limestone cliffs, saltmarshes and ancient castles and churches.

It’s certainly something to celebrate and this is exactly what the annual Gower Walking Festival does. The Gower Walking Festival (winner of the ‘Best Festival and Event (small) in the Swansea Bay Tourism Awards 2019) is a 9-day feast of walks of various levels of difficulty and lengths, taking in the urban and the rural and the little known woodlands and moorlands to the iconic tidal islands off Worms’ Head at Gower’s most westerly edge.

Whatever the route and the level of difficulty or the number of miles, all walks have safety at their core and are guided by trained and experienced leaders who promise special insights into Gower’s spectacular landscape.

There were 49 walks in 2019 and 2020 is shaping up to top the 50+ mark. Dates have already been announced and the programme is taking shape daily. The Gower Walking Festival will run from Saturday 30th May until Sunday 7th June.

You can pick and choose which walks are for you. Do one. Do them all. Do some with your dog. Make friends. Go easy or push yourself to the limits. Walk for well-being. The choice is yours.
