At Bayview, Oxwich we’re proud our local Gower food brands are known world-wide for excellence and flavour: cockles, laverbread, saltmarsh lamb, and samphire. Surrounded on three sides by ocean means we’re never short of freshly caught fish and sea food and other delicacies from sea and shore.
But there’s even more. We’re also proud here in Gower of local artisans and entrepreneurs who are pioneering new food products, from beer and coffee to ice-cream and confectionary. They’re placing the Gower name centre stage on their distinctive packaging labels and taking the Made in Gower message to the world.
Gower Ice Cream
Gower Ice Cream is the great taste of Gower in a scoop – Welsh milk from cows who graze on rich pasture, gluten free, and all the finest ingredients. The brand is the brainchild of former British Lion, Wales and Osprey, rugby legend, Ryan Jones, and his partner, Mark Sansum. Between them they have succeeded in capturing a nostalgic zing of sunny days at our local Gower beaches. The Gower Coffee Company
Another legend in the Swansea area is The Kardomah Café, known for its associations with Dylan Thomas, Ceri Richards and other famous creatives. Owner, Gower-born and Gower-bred Welsh-Italian Marcus Luporini is now also gaining plaudits for his coffee. The brand combines Marcus’ love of coffee with his love of surfing, every blend translating the Gower surf-break that inspired it. Like the varied surf in Gower, the blends range in strength and style from easy beach breaks to gnarly reefs. For example, Three Cliffs break is smooth and mellow like the coffee, while Rhossili is punchier and has you coming back time and time again.
