Two Gower beaches named in Wales’ Top Ten

At Bayview, Oxwich we’re delighted to see that Rhossili Bay and Three Cliffs Bay in Gower have both figured in the Top 10 beaches in Wales in the recent and much-coveted best British beach guide published by The Sunday Times.

This prestigious guide, which has been collated every year for the last thirteen years, is the result of its Chief Travel writer, Chris Halsam, walking the length and breadth of Great Britain covering over 6,000 miles and inspecting over 800 beaches across a wide range of criteria. These criteria include of course, spectacular beauty, but also cover car-parking, life-guard coverage, tide characteristics and wheel chair access.

For such a small peninsula, (just 19 miles long and 6 miles wide) Gower certainly packs a big punch when it comes to beautiful beaches, and Rhossili and Three Cliffs are just two. You can take in the views of the iconic limestone cliffs of Three Cliffs from each of our three architect-designed contemporary holiday cottage rentals cottages and our 2 luxury apartments. And Rhossili Bay is just a ten minute drive away.

What we love about Gower beaches is the variety. Miles of golden sandy beaches, safe for swimming and sheltered from the winds here at Oxwich to wild, expansive stretches of Atlantic-facing shoreline favoured by surfers at Llangennith. Miles of pristine dunes at Crawley Woods and Whiteford Burrows to dramatic limestone cliffs at Mewslade and Fall Bay. Smugglers’ coves at Brandy Cove and even beaches overlooked by castles at Pennard and Pwll Du.

To find out more about Gower’s beaches and discover some secret locations that even Chris Halsam might not know about, please contact us at Bayview. Michael or Wanda will be happy to advise on this and the range of rental accommodation we have available at Bayview.
