This time for a very interesting article written by Ella Braidwood on 16th June in which she outlines her experiences of being part of a small group of walkers, who are part of ‘Mind over Mountains’, a charity using outdoor experiences to support people’s mental health

The Gower peninsula is not only the UK’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) but is a lived in community with a history of Christian worship going back over 1,500 years. Some of its churches are over 800 years old and as well as having a religious and spiritual significance, are architectural, historical and artistic gems.

Before the emergence of COVD-19, Visit Wales had designated 2020 as the ‘Year of Outdoors’ – to reinforce what Wales has to offer in terms of adventure and culture in the great outdoors. This designation seems very timely in light of the current situation and the ‘new normal’.
