5 Cool Cafes in Gower
We’re spoiled for choice in Gower for perfect pit stops to relax, and take time out with a coffee and a cake, and at the same time take in the fabulous views that our cafes offer along with great food.

1. Eddy’s Café, Hillend, Llangennith
If you’re looking for informal with a cool surf vibe, then Eddy’s is for you. Situated at Hillend, Llangennith, the café is a mecca for surfing and water-sports’ enthusiasts from across the UK as well as being popular with locals. Look out at the dunes and magnificent 3-mile sweep of world-famous Atlantic-facing Rhossili Bay. Dine in in spacious surroundings with the walls adorned with surfboards and local surfing art or dine on the terrace. Have a seaside classic of fish and chips or choose from a wide menu including vegan and vegetarian options. Also take advantage of buying a ready-made packed lunch if you’re heading for the beach. 2. Cwm Ivy Café, Llanmadoc
Get a very different feel of Gower at the Cwm Ivy Café in Llanmadoc, situated on Gower’s northern estuary shore that is little travelled. A hidden gem of a café with an old-fashioned charm and homemade cakes along with a larger menu offering vegan friendly and gluten free options. Sit inside or outside in the spacious gardens and listen to the birds and look out over the atmospheric salt marshes and the nature reserve with its many hides. Dog friendly. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays and at 4.pm on other days.
3. Three Cliffs Coffee Shop, Southgate
Situated at Southgate, Pennard, famous for its views over iconic Three Cliffs Bay and to moody Pennard Castle, this well-known café is a hub for visitors and locals alike. Eat inside or out in a friendly environment and taste the wide-ranging menu that everyone raves about. Its pizzas, quiches and sandwiches are a triumph and are also available for takeaway as are picnic hampers if you’re planning on a day on the beach. Easy and plentiful parking.
4. The Looks Out, Southgate and Rhossili
The Look Out brand has 2 cafes in Gower which offer what the name suggests – wonderful views of Gower’s coast and cliffs. Take in iconic Three Cliffs Bay from the Southgate café, and the wonderful tidal island of Worms’ Head from the Rhossili café – a great opportunity to see the famed sunsets here too. Both cafes are open from 9am – 6pm daily, offer breakfasts until 12,00 mid-day and then a varied menu including, stone-baked pizzas, wraps, brownies and Swansea’s famed Joe’s ice-cream. Dog-friendly.
5. Surfside Café, Caswell
The Surfside brand has 3 café’s in Gower, at Langland, Rotherslade and our favourite at Caswell Bay. Situated literally at the water’s edge, it is open summer and winter. Eat inside or out and look out across the wide stretch of golden sand and watch swimmers and surfers take to the ocean. In winter, cosy up inside next to the wood-burner and watch the waves lash against the steps outside. A great relaxed vibe offering all-day breakfasts, tea-cakes and toast, bagels and burgers and salads and sandwiches. Loved by visitors and locals. Dog friendly. Open Monday-Sunday 8.45am – 5.00pm.
