In September the sea around the Gower peninsula is at its warmest after the heat of the summer. The crowds have gone and the evenings still have some light. It’s a perfect month to swim or surf. What’s more, you can swim or surf at the same time as seeing the sun come up or go down as Gower is such a compact peninsula affording both east and west-facing beaches.

We’re spoiled for choice in Gower for perfect pit stops to relax, and take time out with a coffee and a cake, and at the same time take in the fabulous views that our cafes offer along with great food.

It’s almost time to lace up your boots and get involved in the Gower Walking Festival. The acclaimed festival runs from Saturday, 3rd September until Sunday, 11th September and offers participants 9 days and 33 walks that celebrate Gower’s unique landscape and rich heritage.

At Bayview Oxwich, after the upheavals and disappointments of the Pandemic, we’re delighted to see the return of The Gower Show this year.

When it comes to beaches, Gower’s blessed – so many varieties all within such a compact peninsula: sweeping sandy bays, pebbled bays framed by dramatic limestone cliffs, secret coves, deserted estuary shores backed by magical woodlands, wild Atlantic shorelines, and bays made for a family day out with kids in tow.
