Gower Sea Food Hut – the accolades keep on coming!

At Bayview, Oxwich we’re delighted to see the superlatives just keep coming for a firm favourite of ours, Gower Sea Food Hut in nearby Mumbles. In June it featured in The Guardian’s round-up of the best 22 places to eat fish around the UK (one of only 4 in Wales), and in July was flagged up in The Sunday Times. This is what the reviewers had to say:

I love the simplicity and honesty of the Seafood Hut. It really is just a hut! Great shellfish at its seasonal best, cooked with passion, respect and understanding. A beacon of deliciousness on the main Mumbles pedestrian strip.
Stephen Terry, chef-owner, The Hardwick for The Guardian

Spankingly fresh catches of the day.
Barney for The Sunday Times

These recent accolades add to the Runner-up Food Monthly Award by the Observor in 2018 and being highly commended in the Swansea Bay Tourism Awards 2017 – not bad for a business that was only born in the May of that year.

If you want to eat great fish and get great sea views at the same time, Gower Sea Food Hut is the place for you. Just a 30-minute drive from Bayview, you’ll find this distinctive blue and white painted horsebox facing the sea on the promenade at Mumbles next to Southend Park and the Crazy Golf.

Inside this quirky horse box, all manner of wonderful sea foods are cooked to order and unique local products such as famous Selwyn’s Seaweed sold. You can take your pick from the menu on the chalkboard, from crispy chilli prawns, breaded plaice, plaice goujons, whitebait, calamari and a range of cold options such as cockles and dressed crab. All served in compostable packaging and the assurance of 5* food hygiene.

Gower Sea Food Hut is open from March until the end of September from 13.00 – 18.00 (later in summer months) Tuesdays to Sundays.
