Eating out in Gower – Five fresh foodie favourites for 2023

Fresh out of the oven is the wonderful news that the world’s biggest culinary event is coming to Wales in 2026 after Wales defeated Italy 28-24 in a final vote. The Worldchefs Congress & Expo will bring together a global body of hospitality professionals, attracting 1,000 chefs, 5,000 visitors from 100+ countries when it convenes at Wales’ iconic International Conference Centre (ICC) in Newport. This equates with the World Cup coming to Wales!

At Bayview, Oxwich we’re excited about this and while we’re not yet taking bookings ahead for 2026 (though we expect demand to be high) it did prompt us to refocus on the incredible wealth of produce and a bourgeoning food and drink industry that Wales – and of course Gower – can offer its visitors from across the UK and abroad.

The winning pitch that won Wales the Congress is ‘Pasture, Passion, Plate’ and this marketing tag is as apt for the Gower peninsula as anywhere in Wales: surrounded on three sides by sea, receiving just enough rainfall for a rich agricultural industry, and inhabited by passionate artisan food and drink producers. Nothing showcases the coming together of all these factors than the host of spectacular places to eat in Gower, where creative chefs delight guests with the freshest produce gathered within the minimum of food miles and delivered straight to your plate.

Here are Bayview’s Top 5 eating our recommendations that are guaranteed to whet the appetite for foodies at all price points and are reflective of Pasture, Passion, Plate:
