Save the dates for The Gower Triathlon

It’s not long now until the spectacle that is the Gower Triathlon returns to the seaside village of Port Eynon, just a 10-minute drive from Bayview, Oxwich.

Registration is currently open for those over the age of sixteen who want to swim, bike, run or volunteer for this two-day event on16th and 17th July, 2022, an annual highlight of the Gower calendar, at www.gowertriathlon.com

On the website you’ll find all the entry details for both the Saturday’s ‘Olympic’ category (1.5km swim, 37km bike ride, 10km run) and Sunday’s ‘Sprint’ category (750km swim, 25km bike ride, 5 km run) with details of the legendary party too along with answers to all the questions you might want to ask about the event and the glorious Gower area.

Gower, the UK’s first designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) provides a beautiful backdrop for this huge event, attracting over 400 athletes per day who test their skills in the beautiful blue-flag awarded waters and shore of Port Eynon which are home to both the swim and parts of the run and bike routes.

If you don’t think you’re capable of entering yourself, don’t let that put you off spectating. As well as the thrill of the Triathlon, Port Eynon has everything you want for a family day out: a beautiful sandy beach, a history of fishermen and smuggling, two fish and chip shops, a gift shop, a pub and a restaurant. It is also situated on the Wales Coast Path www.walescoastpath.gov.uk so if you’re a walker, you can easily connect to the nearby villages of Horton and Overton.

The Gower Triathlon is a great incentive for you to take a holiday in Gower and stay over in one of our architect-designed holiday rental contemporary cottages or luxury apartments here Oxwich.  Make a weekend of it. Make a week of it. We’re open to super-fit Gower Triathlon participants and those who want to spectate in a more leisurely fashion. We guarantee all great coastal and countryside views and a great chill out in true Bayview style.

Please contact Wanda and the Team here at Bayview to discuss your holiday property booking options and anything else you might need to know.
