Welcome back to Gower/Croeso yn ôl i’r Gŵyr
We were delighted to welcome guests from within Wales back to Bayview in time for the Easter Holidays. It was lovely to see people out and about enjoying the grounds (and the weather) here in Oxwich. We celebrated by organising an Easter Egg Hunt (socially distanced!) and everyone enjoyed.
Exploring Gower on horseback
Our family loves to explore Gower in many different ways: walking on our own two legs, cycling on two wheels, and since Freddie the horse has become the latest addition to the family, our girls have started to see Gower from a new perspective from the saddle of their four-legged friend.
Pennard Golf Club Gower – the links in the sky
Sometimes it’s good to remind ourselves, and our visitors, at Bayview, Oxwich, just how highly Wales rates as a destination for world-class golfing experiences.
Brand Gower Beverages
At Bayview, Oxwich we’re lucky to have not one, but two, award-winning beverage enterprises on our doorstep. We’re delighted to endorse The Gower Gin Company and The Gower Brewery for their outstanding gins and beers and thrilled that both companies are recognised for flying the flag for Gower produce.
Brand Gower Foods
At Bayview, Oxwich we’re proud our local Gower food brands are known world-wide for excellence and flavour: cockles, laverbread, saltmarsh lamb, and samphire. Surrounded on three sides by ocean means we’re never short of freshly caught fish and sea food and other delicacies from sea and shore.
Unearthing Local Gower Produce
In Wales we have a word for taste: blas. And Gower has it in abundance. A true taste all of its own. Blessed by warm summers, mild winters, and just the right amount of rainfall, we have more than our fair share of green fields, providing a readily available larder of first class meat and dairy produce on the doorstep.
We love Gower – and so does The New York Times!
Sometimes it’s easy for us to take too much for granted what’s right on the doorstep at Bayview, Oxwich. We’re a little blasé about the fact that Gower has it all: glorious beaches, dramatic cliffs, ancient woodland, marshes, moorland, castles, churches and culture. All this packed into a peninsula that’s so compact you really can have everything when you come to visit.
Advent 2021 at Bayview Oxwich
Advent, with a capital A, is usually used in its religious sense to denote the coming of Christmas. However, on this, the last day of 2020, with a new year knocking on the door, we thought we’d use it in its wider meaning of the ‘arrival of a notable person or thing’ to let you know what’s coming here at Bayview, Oxwich in 2021.
Winter Solstice in Gower
This year more than ever, the date of 21st December takes on even more significance than usual. In the midst of all the darkness, our Winter Solstice here in Gower, in the northern hemisphere, marks a pivotal point and the turn of the year’s tide.

BAFTA-winning Filmmaker at Bayview, Oxwich to explore Gower Soundscapes
Artists, photographers, musicians and creatives have long been inspired by Gower’s unique sense of place. Filmmaker and Film Director, Rupert Miles is just one of many whose work is born in Gower. He recently chose to make Tŷ Megan – one of Bayview’s luxury rental properties – his home from home after moving back from Bristol to Gower, the place he feels he truly belongs.
