2021 has seen Gower figure in so many ‘best of’ features and recently it starred yet again in Conde Nast Traveller. The article published on 20 09 2021 stated that they’d been ‘searching high and low to bring readers the pick of the best beaches in the UK.’
Swansea – City by the Sea
We’re always amazed at Bayview, Oxwich when we read articles that express surprise at how wonderful Swansea is as a long – or short – break holiday destination. We’re even more surprised when it is endlessly framed with comparisons to the Mediterranean or Italy’s Bay of Naples. Swansea is a unique Welsh city by the sea with a distinctive vibe and we’re proud to celebrate that and point out its delights to our guests here in nearby Gower.
Môr Restaurant, Mumbles
Môr means sea in Welsh. And it’s the name of one of Bayview’s favourite restaurants, situated right on the sea front at Mumbles and less than a half hour’s drive from us here in Oxwich, Gower.
Gower Sea Food Hut – the accolades keep on coming!
At Bayview, Oxwich we’re delighted to see the superlatives just keep coming for a firm favourite of ours, Gower Sea Food Hut in nearby Mumbles. In June it featured in The Guardian’s round-up of the best 22 places to eat fish around the UK (one of only 4 in Wales), and in July was flagged up in The Sunday Times.
Blackpill Lido named in UK’s Top 5
Blackpill Lido, Swansea, has recently been named among the UK’s Top 5 Lidos in research carried out by Fulton Umbrellas. It was the only one in Wales to be singled out, and held its head high along with four others from Brighton, London, Northern Ireland and Scotland.
Two Gower beaches named in Wales’ Top Ten
At Bayview, Oxwich we’re delighted to see that Rhossili Bay and Three Cliffs Bay in Gower have both figured in the Top 10 beaches in Wales in the recent and much-coveted best British beach guide published by The Sunday Times.

We are delighted here at Bayview, that fabulous chef, Hywel Griffith, of the acclaimed Michelin Star Beach House Restaurant right here on the beach front at Oxwich, made it through to the final of #GreatBritishMenu 2021. We were cheering him on every step of the way through this iconic BBC television show.
